Writer Viv lives in Los Angeles, where she explores themes of identity, belonging, and the quiet narratives that shape who we are.
Born in Hsinchu, Taiwan, she grew up speaking Mandarin before immigrating to the Bay Area at 12—a transition that taught her how to navigate new languages, cultures, and versions of herself.
Becoming "Writer Viv," she approaches this unfamiliar territory with the same courage she once carried across oceans—but with more gentleness. What once were private scribbles now unfolds into public storytelling, as she lets this part of herself breathe and flourish under the sun.
Her love for writing began in Mandarin, and she hopes to one day create a Mandarin version of her podcast as a quiet companion for those who find solace in their native tongue.
Through audio personal essays, Writer Viv pieces together fragmented identities, reconciles with the past, and reflects on the slow, brave work of remembering. She is especially drawn to questions of how we hold, lose, and reclaim parts of ourselves across time.
When not writing, she softens her perfectionist edges with simple joys: napping, long conversations, tea, friends, and reconnecting with her body.
